Hey, cut the guy some slack. He is in Ireland, they may not force you to have all the extensive, government-mandated safety equipment.

While I am sure that everyone means well, and is concerned for his safety (as am I with a 10 month old of my own), he may have his reasons for wanting the child up front with him.
