There might be some spilled beverage in the switch group around
the shifter. That may be shorting out the trunkswitch.
Otherwise, it may be a faulty pushbutton for the trunk on the
trunk lid.

If you want to stop this until it is fixed, just lock the trunk with the
metal portion of your smart key to put the trunk in valet lock out.
