JC Whiteny sells a sound deadening material that is similar to the MB stuff, except that it is a plain ashphalt sheet, no honeycomb texture and no foam.

I'd replace the sound deadening, you will notice it's absence on the highway with much higher road noise.

We used this in my brother's 75 300D.
