Now, if the 126 just had come as a kombi....

It seems like the OM617 should be able to take a manual tranny regardless of what chassis it sits in. Obviously, some modification to the shifter rods and driveshaft would be required plus fabricating a rear crossmember (Hehe,....no pulling a suitable one of those off a boneyard car on this side of the pond!!!).

I wonder if the clutch/brake pedal assembly from a 123 is the same as those used on a 126???
