John as usual your right on target.
Regarding typical Ferrari owners I think they are very similar to Porsche owners based on my own observations at Ferrari club events. Contrary to popular belief I have found that the Ferrari crowd is much more outgoing and friendly than other groups that I have mingled with. Yes most of the owners are rich but many of them owned them when they were poor like me.
If I wanted a performance car for getting around town it would be a toss up between a 911, 928 or NSX. I must add that the Modena is very civilized and nice to drive around town, but they are just to expensive to drive into the ground. If money was no object I would own the following.
1. MB S500 4matic family cruiser
2. MB S55 Topless roadster and convertible
3. Ferrari 575M For sports around town and Highway
4. Ferrari 275 GTS ----------------- Nostalgia
5. Chevy Avalanche
Now if you want to meet a bunch of A-holes go to a Corvette GTG. I had the misfortune of being in the same hotel as one a year ago and those guys were the biggest pricks I have ever encountered. I went as far as telling a waitress that I was not with that group, she replied "finally someone that will tip and not pat my A$$."
