I was under the impression that the 9 bladed fan only attached to the fan clutch and not directly to the water pump. Am I mistaken.
Can anyone comment on the significance of the differences of running with/without a fan clutch? Since the fan clutch is bad on my 409d and costs about $500, I have given some thought to just putting on a fan without a clutch. How much power will this rob from propelling the vehicle?
