Does anyone know if the entire tail light assembly from a 2000 model e320 will fit on to a 1997 model e320?

I am interested in upgrading to the newer lights, but an unable to confirm whether the newer 2000 ones will fit my older 1997 model.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
