What model car are you talking about?

If you remove a fuse and the current drops to almost nothing, it should go back to the original when the fuse is replaced, I.E. 50ish.

The fuse removal test is to find a circuit that is running down your battery when the car is not being used. If the problem is a bad alternator, you won't have to do this test.

Yes, it will take more than 24 hours to fully charge a battery at 1.5 amps.
