When I used to drive trucks for a living.......

My longest non-stop jaunt was from approximately 60 miles south of Dallas, to Grand Rapids Michigan. I don't recall the miles travelled anymore, but it took me about 24 hours to pull the drive, all on interstate, stopping only for fuel, food, and towards the end of that run, whatever ultra high caffeine beverages I could wrap my hands around. The vehicle driven was a 1994 Volvo/GMC truck with a 14.6L 350hp Caterpillar engine and a 10 speed manual tranny, running right at 80,000 pounds. Ahhh, the good ole' days when I was young enough to get away with it, and still too dumb to realize the consequences of that kind of driving.

Now I'm thrilled when I pull distances like my last trip. Denver, CO. to Baker City, OR. in one day.
