Yes they are stronger. So they should last indefinitely?

Out of curiousity, does MB still sell the engines with stronger connecting rods?

The 350 does burn about 1 qt in 500 - 600 miles when the oil is topped up. When it is down one qt, the oil consumption practically stops. If it was engine trouble, wouldn't it keep consuming oil regardless of the oil-level?
