The '95 has a nice feature other than just being newer than the '87--namely no turbo, no oil cooler to fix when they break.
The '95 also came with a larger capacity fuel tank. I allways got 27-33 MPG in town and much better on the road. The climate control system in the newer car is a factory R134 set-up that really works. Also, my car had a press it once power window switch on the driver's side that my '87 does not have.
I drove mine for 145,000 with few problems, and I now regret having sold it. The one complaint with the '95 is with its high altitude performance. Once over 7,000 feet it is pretty sluggish due to the lack of turbo boost.
