I found out that my 300SD engine wouldn't start either with 2 GP open. It wouldn't even sputter in about 30*F weather. It started with no difference when 1 GP was bad but with 2 GP bad, nothing. I would think it would at least try to start on the 3 cylinders that had good GP.
When I replaced the 2 bad GP, the engine started on the first or second turn even though it was relatively cold. Now I replace a bad GP as soon as the blinking GP indicator notifies me that 1 GP has gone bad.
