I think that it's possible that you miss understood my post building an enclosure that is either sealed or ported under the rear parcel shelf that's air tight and having the sub mounted on top of the rear parcel shelf so that it is air tight or sealed off this would be just like a sealed or ported enclosure without having to cut the rear parcel shelf out.
