First of all I wouldn't worry about algae, because algae requires photosynthesis to reproduce, and there is no sunlight in your fuel tank. You may, however, need to be concerned about fungi which lives in water and feeds on fuel. Bleeding the clutch is very simple and only requires a good quality oil can like one mfg by Plews. Fill it with brake fluid, connect it to the slave bleed screw by means of a hose, open the screw, and pump til you see the fluid rise in the reservoir. It is that simple.
