Sorry for the silly question, but where is the "switch"? Do you mean a bad connection to the actual wiper stalk? I would think that a bad connection would cause an intermittant wiper, not a slow and somewhat jerky one.
My symptoms sound the same as others who fixed their problem but cleaning and lubing the wiper shaft...but it didn't work for me
