Recall that he zapped the octo-thingies with a wave of his hands. Kung-fu'd them with a self-generated EMP. How'd he do that outside of the Matrix?

I think he is a transcendent personality. And/Or Reality is just another form of the Matrix-- like in the "Thirteenth Floor".
