I have an 88 190e 2.3L (4 cyl). Bought it 10 years ago (50K on it) and never had regreted it - currently have 150K on it and starts every morning like a charm!

Though, I have had one major problem with the vehicle. The Vacuum system for the A/C. had to change out the cells/diaphrams behind the dash. Not an easy job and it takes an experienced mechanic like 5 hours to do. The cells/diaphrams are not expensive, like 20 bucks each (three total behind the dash) It has been my experience with my vehicle and that of friends, that if these have not been changed before, they will go out on you soon.
