Well put. I was asked what being a parent meant to me. This was when my daughter was about six month sold. They were expecting the "tired, no sleep, no partying" kind of answer. I said "there is now another person on the planet that I would reach into my chest and pull my heart out for."
The husband is showing a complete lack of respect for his wife's family by not respecting/working-within their wishes. I love my wife more than life, and we've been together for over half of our lives. That does not preclude her bond with her parents. You make an excellent point.
That said, I wish we really knew what this poor young woman's true wishes were. Have you seen the pictures/video of her before this terrible tragedy? She was a vibrant, beautiful woman. Today, she is anything but. What does she really want? Can her husband be trusted to make the right choice with a new bride-to-be and $750,000 on the line.
I am a little surprised at his new relationship. I would not have left her side. (Remember the "for better or worse" part? Hello?) Perhaps he feels differently as I do. Then divorce her, put her in the care of her parents, and go away. His actions stink of greed.
The more I type this thought, the more I despise this man. Is he really on a crusade to ensure Terri's wishes are honoured? It does not sound like it one little bit! Step up and be a man. Donate the money to charity, give it to her parents, something! Oh, I can hear it now: "I lost my wife, and I should get something too." He's got a new wife, fer chrissakes.
