I disagree with Lars' advice on where to place the jack...

If you need to jack up the car, STAY AWAY FROM THE POWERTRAIN PARTS...i.e engine, tranny, differential...

There are 4 (count em 4) little round holes by each wheel which is where the stock jack goes into, and those are an excellent place to put a floor jack, directly under them... and then jack up the corner of the car and put a jack stand under it.
