If you have the meter in my picture then 'range' is incorrect. The top left button labeled "HZ/%" is the way to change the meter to read duty cycle. Hz is the default setting. You have to press it once and the % sign will appear. Also remember that this meter reads OFF/ON so the black connector goes to the #3 socket.
