I know he hasnt tried the re-sync procedure. When you insert the key in the ignition, the first thing that happens is the wheel un-locks, without turning the key. Then you can turn the key to start the car. When he inserts the key, he gets nothing. A friend of mine thinks they use a laser diode much like a remote for a TV, but a higher quality. When you insert the key in the ignition, it transmits its signal to a reciever in the wheel. Does anyone know if this is true? The front of the key does have a red lens on the front of it, so maybe it is an infared type signal. (Like a T.V remote). Somebody must know.
