I went with DirecTV after I finished building the house in 96, I paid $900 for the receiver and dish. The only cable available is the old analog system. I also have DirecWay since there is no other broadband internet service. The two way internet is OK and beats dialup hands down.

I am fighting off the urge to go HDTV because the early adopters usually get the shaft. My strategy is to switch to dish for a month or so and then back to DirecTV for the HD promotions.
