OK, more food for thought:
OK, I'm not sure on the C Class about the fuel filter. My original train of thought was that on this, the fuel filter has the pressure regulator integrated into it, not 100% sure this is true or not.

There is a component on the car which in a way substitutes what the OVP does. It's in the control module box, it's called the fuse and relay module (K40 I believe is it's identifier). It may cause this, it has the fuel pump relay in it, etc, helps distribute power to various control modules.
What probably should be done is a quick scan for trouble codes, and if nothing there the best next step would probably be to drive the car with a fuel pressure gauge installed and monitor fuel pressure when the car stalls.
Another possiblity (because stalling is rather rare on the M112 engine) is maybe the throttle motor (actuator).
