Greezr, you've gotta be skeptical of optimistic appraisals as these are special interest cars that most people wont touch...... except for folks like us on this board who have owned and driven vintage MBs our entire lives.

By way of highest and best case scenario, here's an incredibly fine original 45k miles 1973 450SE - first year of the 116 - that topped out at $5,500

At the other end of the spectrum - you've got scavengers and end-consumers like me, the DieselDog, who has never paid more than $1500 for any car - yet has generally driven each car I've owned for up to 100k miles or more. Am presently driving $500 240D - yet lookin for $900 190Dc. It might sound pitiful - but the economy model 1960's diesel is good enough car for me.
