My family has run Benz's through the winter here in Pennsylvania for 20 years. 4 Tires are just the way to go, no if ands or buts. Being able to move is just half of the equation-you also have to steer and stop!

I have also tried the Blizzac tires-they just have a super sticky sort of tread that grabs the ice. Interesting, but they wear down too quickly. On the other hand, they dont' have that HMMMMMMMMMMM sound that studs do. Might be better for your use in a more southernly state?
