Unfortunately, you may be out of luck. Personally, I have never trusted an 'aftermarket' warranty company to handle claims as well as via a factory warranty.

I realize this may not help your situation, though.

Do a google search on the compnay you are investigating and make sure to check on the owners of the company as well. In several cases, I have found they are involved in litigation with people they insure....not the best bang for the buck IMO
