Well, this is from memory.. since I don't have time to find the manuals and check...
One difference was in early and later piston tops and the precombustion chamber shape to match...
Another was the cam lobe design...
Not exactly stuff you can see from the outside of the engine... as the manual also suggested " upgrading" if work was done on the old style stuff...
