You could try fixing the pan one more time by trying some marine epoxy. I have found that this stuff has some good heat resistant properties plus excellent tensile strength. You just need to make sure the surfaces are and clean and free of any oily residue. It costs about $5 and you can find it at your local big box home improvement store.
It may save you from many hours of R&R'ing the engine.
