You know, you might be able to use a piezo electric sensor, clamp it to a fuel line and measure the frequency with a DMM that has a Hz scale.

Unfortunately Larry, I don't have those items in my roll-away. I guess the easiest thing to do in my case is to put the fuse back in for the tach and use it then. I have to pull it out to drive the car otherwise the tranny won't shift. I have a CA car that has a bug in the tach circuit that I haven't been able to figure out.
