Most vehicles have hose-clamped oil or tranny oil cooler lines. Do just fine for 100's of K miles.

Using hi-press hydraulic lines and full-wrap clamps (like the stock MB clamps) would be the safe way to go. That and flaring the ends of the cut-off tubing.

I decided to cut the tubing and silver solder on a brass fitting that I threaded a barbed fitting into for easier removal in the future.
