I'm using the resident web browser that came with OS-X and it blocks pop-ups. Some sites have pop-upd for yu when the site needs info. Just turn the blocking function off. I use Google's blocker at work on my PC (Windows XP) and it works for the overwhelming majority of pop-ups.

What I really want is some sort of aggressive spamicide.
