What does an SL sticker for in the US today? I think it's more than $70K. The 450 was a better deal.

The new SL's are in the $90K to $100K range depending on options and where you buy the car. And the 450SL just might have been a better car too. Not as many toys and gadgets but certainly more dependable and much cheaper to maintain and repair. And they still retain their classic styling after all those years. Of course I am somewhat predjudiced.....I own a '73 SL with 85K miles. I constantly get questions asking what year the car is....and most are astonished when I tell them it is over 30 years old.
