Hi all

I am a new Classic Mercedes Owner, having just bought a 1971 280se 3.5, it has developed a slight problem, when setting off from standstill the gearbox 'slips' slightly, but not always, feeling a little like wheelspin...

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is, seems very strong in all other gears, just the setting off from standstill, its not major, and if i start real slow it seems to be ok most of the time, the car is a 4 spd Automatic, any help would be great
