My 1984 (build date Nov. 1983) 300SD California version has the following that, I believe is different from the 1983 model:

1. Factory alarm system (anti-tow came out in 1985)
2. Air recirculating valve on intake manifold and associated vacuum lines for it.
3."Vacuum amplifier" (from where the vacuum lines come that go to the EGR and air recirculating valve) in front of the rt. inside fender.
4. Lack of vacuum valve assy. on top of engine valve cover
5. Definately no trap ox. on a 1984 CA.

The emissions vacuum diagram (on the CD and in the engine compartment) show 2,3and 4 .
