I'll list my 3 cars:
93 300E 2.8: No rattles at all: 10
92 400E: One intermittant rattle in dashboard where I had a cell phone mount installed: 9
83 300SD: Lots of rattles. It seems to me the map pockets in the doors rattle -- plastic against plastic. I keep thinking I'll try seeling them up with something, but haven't tried anything yet. I'd rate this a 6, since the rattles are pretty low in volume. Further, I've driven several 300SD's from the mid 80's and found they generally have the same noises as mine.
