116 Blower Motor Swap

The car is a 1979 300SD. The problem is the blower motor has just about quit. I have been doing the bump and run for a few months now (hitting just under the golve box so the brushes can make some contact). I bit the bullet and purchased a new blower motor. Are there any tricks or tips I need to know before I tackle the job? I was told I need to pop out the glove box. Is this true? If the glove box does have to come out are the plastic push buttons that hold it in reusable? I was also told the job is quite easy, 3 8mm bolts, one 2 prong plug and a screwdriver for the whole thing. Any info is greatly appreciated. I live in NY and we are having a nasty cold snap. I need heat that works all the time!!! I have heard that these blower motors are repairable/rebuildable with new brushes etc... but I decided to go new and not bother...
