No problem keeping the amber corners. The headlight assembly and corner reflector assembly are different pieces.

Something you might want to consider that would be a nice compromise is to install the corners out of a '94 or '95 W124. They are clear in front but have a amber reflector strip at the rear. Easiest way to see what they look like is to view the cars on eBay. This is the way I'm went. I didn't really like the look of all clear. Looks too sterile to me. The amber reflecting strip breaks up the monotone clear look. Since they are oem on the '94 and '95, the local police can't say anything.
