I paid $89 for a new one, many dealers do not discount anything on parts.
Did you call Phil at the Partsforum? I wonder if he can special order one at a discount?
FYI there was a fellow at a wrecking yard in sacramento, CA (Silver Star Recycling or something similar) that sent me a quote for $10 PLUS $50 PULL FEE) which I declined, as a used unit that is simply out of line.
Another person in San Jose, CA wanted $15 for a pull. I should have grabbed it.
Put out a want for used parts, you might find one cheap.
Making one will be fun. If you do decide to go that route please share with us your results.
