I had the same problem this week, and I also thought its the water pump. It turned out to be my Thermostat.

Although initially I suspected the water pump, I never saw it leaking. I was able to put my finger at the bottom weep hole and it was always dry. I subsequently put a Kleenex underneath the pump and left it there for a while. When I removed the Kleenex it was dry.

I then put my finger below the thermostat housing and noticed it was a bit wet. I poured a bit of water on the thermostat housing and the water ended up at the exact same spot at the bottom of the oil pan where I had originally noticed the drops. When I poured a bit of water on the top of the water pump the drips ended up at a somewhat different spot on the oil pan. This pretty much eliminated the water pump and confirmed the thermostat as the source of the leak.

Using the procedure above you can confirm or eliminate the water pump or thermostat as a suspects.
