Last week I changed the thermosat on my car. While doing so, I noticed that I have a wire that comes from underneath the block, behind the power steering resovior, along with other wires and hoese, but this wire is not connected to anything.

The car:
1988 190e 2.3L 8v.

The wire:
Is blue and red striped, has a female conector at the end and the plastic around the female conector is clearish green.

I was in a rush this morning so I could not go underneath the car and see where it comes from, so I just took a pic to see if anyone here would know. But even though this is not conencted to anything, the car runs great! Real smooth idle, starts right up in the mornings? No warning lights on in the cluster?
