Chain Tensioner Addendum

To close out this story, you should know that I wasn't completely happy with what I was hearing under Lilly's hood even after replacing the timing chain. I realized that, at speed, I could hear a faint singing or whining sound reminiscent of an over-tightened timing BELT.

Off line, I queried Larry Bible who immediately recognized it symptoms of an improperly adjusted (too tight) timing chain tensioner. Last night, I pulled the tensioner, reset it and the rest, as they say, is history. Lilly lives to ride again!

What I learned? The FSM is the right way to do things, don't think about trying to do these repairs at 11:30pm and if something is really hard to do on one of these cars, step back and assess the situation because you're probably going about it all wrong!

Huzzay!
