Now my car is no where near as "new" as yours but, with my car you just remove the center console wood and you can get to the light bulb. I would imagine you would have to remove the ashtray to get to the screws at that end, that help hold the console in place. I can't picture the exact placement of everything on your console but I am sure it's not all that different from my W116.
