Rob, I assume you mean the round dial between the dash vents that shows outside temp.
I'm no great expert, since mine hasn't broken (yet!
), but I do know the sensor for that is behind the front license plate area of the front bumper. A start would be to check for broken wiring from it into the engine bay.
