According to the CD manual it's actually 8 NM. It takes remarkably little force to tighten these things. Also, even though I had set the torque wrench properly, originally I used an extension to tighten the bolts before I remembered that this also would result in more force being applied than the torque wrench setting. Fortunately, I was able to back everything off and the gasket wasn't cut.
