I think a better indication of 'value' or a car 'bleeding money' is cost per mile. This last year I figured out I was paying about 0.15Cents per mile - seemed resonable for the amount of repairs I needed to do. Repairs happen in spurts too. You could end up going for a long time with no money invested in repairs. Good luck.
