is the car as fast as it used to be? does the EDS still give you the extra fuel even though it thinks the turbo wastegate is open?

the dawes device website says it goes inline between the intake manifold and wastegate. is there some kind of pressure line that runs between them even on the mechanical wastegate?

sorry for the grand inquisition, but id really like to do this in my car if it really works like the fatory setup did.
