of course one should not touch that adjustment until one knows what one is doing. One needs to know how to tell when one has done it right.

I only mention this because it is not likely anyone asking how to "that allows mechanicaly to adjust the air amount" is likely to know what they are doing. Actually the fact that you wish to avoid the simple computer mechanism to do this ("without having to hook the engine to a computer"), proves the point.

Anyway, ONE does NOT adjust the amount of air. That is done with one's foot when one drives. One adjusts the amount of fuel not air!
