Not sure about the 2.6, but on my 2.3 It only took me about 20 minutes. I had to remove the leaf guard, then the wiper assembly. Then loosen the blower motor cover by pushing the metal tabs in. The cover then lifts off. Then unplug the motor and there is a metal tab holding the motor in which must be released. Then it just lifts out.
When i pulled mine out, clearly it was bad as the wheel was very loose. I think the bushings just wear out and the wheel starts wobbeling when it turns. I found one at a junk yard that didnt wobble so i put that in for $15, and works fine now, for about 8 months.
