I've had mine on the sand in Cape Hatteras twice. The first time I just knew I was going to end up buried to the axles and become the laughing target of every giant superlifted Ford and Chevy pickup roaming the area. Actually ended up blasting all over the place and towed out a Jeep CJ-7 and a little S-10 blazer. Make sure you turn off the stability control or you'll frequently bog down. The traction control stays on though and I've got to say it's a very uncomfortable feeling knowing you're starting to sink a little and having big brother start cutting your engine revs and applying brakes right when you want to hammer it to stay on top of the sand. I frequently felt I would get stuck, but never did. I'm sure I could bury it in some deep stuff but wasn't ready to try it without another 4X4 budy right there for a pull out.
