my mb 380SL wants to idle at 1100 or so rpm, I have replaced control motor, idle valve, and checked computer under passenger floor board.

Some times it will idle at 600 as it should, but it will not stay there: occasionally there is a strange semi-electrical smell from the engine - but nothing ever burns.
